Investigators from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analyzed survey data from 552 adults. The findings were published in the October issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

The researchers also concluded that sedentary behaviors (like gaming) and other forms of physical inactivity as a child will often extend into adulthood. As a result, males and females will spend more time seeking friendship in digital worlds (i.e., the Internet).
